Advanced Cabinet Manufacturing in Boise and the Treasure Valley
How It Works
A look inside the manufacturing process that delivers custom cabinetry to homeowners, builders, and developers across the Treasure Valley.
Located in Star, Idaho, Greyloch operates one of the most automated cabinet manufacturing facilities in North America. The 97,000-square-foot facility runs on advanced technology from HOMAG in Germany, allowing a small, skilled team to produce up to 300 cabinets in a single eight-hour shift.
From Order to Delivery, Every Step Counts
Here is how it works
Meet with the Design Team and Make Selections
Your process begins with a personalized consultation with our design team. Bring any inspiration photos, house plans, measurements, or ideas you’ve collected—this helps us better understand your vision and goals. During this meeting, we’ll walk you through available options, materials, styles, and configurations while offering expert guidance to refine your ideas and ensure everything aligns with your space and needs.
Place Your Deposity and Secure Your Delivery Date
Once your selections are finalized, a deposit is required to move forward. This secures your delivery date and officially places your job into production. At this stage, we’ll confirm all order details and timelines, giving you a clear schedule and ensuring your project is prioritized and on track.
Production and Packaging
After your order is confirmed, our production team gets to work. Each item is carefully crafted according to your specifications, with attention to quality and detail at every stage. Once completed, your order is professionally packaged to ensure it arrives in excellent condition.
Professional Delivery to Your Location
Our experienced delivery team will transport your order directly to you with care and precision. They handle each item professionally to ensure it arrives safely and in perfect condition. We coordinate delivery according to your scheduled date, providing a smooth, reliable, and hassle-free experience from our facility to your space.
Customer Service Follow-Up
As part of our continued commitment to improving the Greyloch experience, we’ve recently introduced a dedicated customer service follow-up. After delivery, our team will check in to ensure everything meets your expectations and address any questions or concerns. While this is a newer part of our process, we’re excited to keep building on it— providing support beyond delivery and strengthening our long-term relationship with every client.
Place Your Order
Every project begins with an order placed through Greyloch's streamlined online ordering system. Each order is configured to the exact specifications of the project, including cabinet dimensions, panel materials, finishes, and hardware selections.
Once an order is submitted, it automatically enters the production system, eliminating manual data entry and reducing the risk of errors before production even begins. This digital workflow allows Greyloch to move from order to production quickly, keeping project timelines on track from day one.
Material Selection and Cutting
With the order in the system, the production line begins with material selection and precision cutting. Greyloch's automated equipment selects the appropriate sheet materials for each job and optimizes panel cutting to maximize yield and minimize waste.
Each panel is cut with precision using advanced automated saws, ensuring consistent dimensions across every cabinet component. This level of accuracy at the cutting stage sets the foundation for clean, consistent cabinet construction throughout the rest of the process.
Edgebanding and Drilling
After cutting, each panel moves through the edgebanding process, where edges are finished with precision to create clean, durable cabinet components. Edgebanding protects the panel edges and contributes to the refined appearance of the finished cabinet.
From there, panels move to automated drilling, where holes for hinges, hardware, and shelf pins are made with exact precision. The HOMAG Sorteq sorting system manages up to 2,500 cabinet parts simultaneously, keeping the production flow organized and efficient as components move through each stage.
Assembly and Hardware Installation
Once components have been cut, edgebanded, and drilled, they move into the assembly stage. Cabinets are assembled with precision, with doors hung and hardware installed as part of the automated production flow.
Each cabinet is inspected during production to ensure it meets Greyloch's quality standards before moving forward. This attention to detail at the assembly stage ensures that every cabinet leaving the facility is built to perform and ready for installation.
Packaging and Delivery
The final step in Greyloch's production process is packaging and delivery. Finished cabinets are boxed and secured using an automated strapping system capable of handling up to 120 loads per hour, ensuring each cabinet is protected and ready for transport.
Greyloch uses swap body delivery trucks that allow loaded cabinet bays to be exchanged efficiently, keeping deliveries organized and on schedule. This end-to-end approach to logistics means cabinets arrive on site in the same condition they left the facility.
